AICTE Pragati and Saksham use a much higher ceiling of ₹8 lakh, which is why so many middle-income diploma families qualify without realising it.

Every NSP scholarship 2026 Karnataka scheme applies the same four filters, in this order:

• Course and level. Pre-matric is Class 1 to 10. Post-matric starts at PUC and covers ITI, diploma, degree and PG.

The PM-USP Central Sector Scheme pays ₹12,000 per year for the first three years of a degree and ₹20,000 per year for PG and the fourth and fifth years of professional courses (Ministry of Education, 2026). AICTE Pragati and Saksham each pay ₹50,000 per year as a single lump sum (AICTE, 2026).

There is no single NSP scholarship 2026 Karnataka amount, and any site quoting one number is guessing.

Keep all of this on the table before you open the NSP scholarship 2026 Karnataka form: Aadhaar, an Aadhaar-linked mobile with the SIM in hand, last exam marks card, income certificate issued after 1 April 2026, caste certificate, and a bank passbook in the student’s own name.

1. Install two apps. NSP OTR and AadhaarFaceRD, both from the Play Store. Face authentication needs an Android phone; it will not complete on an iPhone.
2. Generate your OTR. Go to scholarships.gov.in, choose One Time Registration, enter Aadhaar, complete face authentication in the app. You get a 14-digit number that lasts your whole academic life.
3. If it says “OTR already exists”, do not create a second one. Use “Know Your OTR” to recover it. Duplicate registrations are a common cause of dead applications.
4. Log in and check the live scheme list. Some schemes show open, some show renewal only, some are not yet open. Read the closing date on your exact scheme card.
5. Fill the form in one sitting. The portal does not save partial progress reliably. A half-filled form is not a saved form.
6. Upload documents as PDF or JPEG inside the size limit, then submit and download the acknowledgement. A draft is not an application.

SC, ST and OBC students: after step 3, switch to ssp.karnataka.gov.in and apply there. Your academic data must already be in UUCMS or pushed by your university, and hostellers must be registered on the State Hostel Portal, or the SSP form will not submit.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is NSP and SSP the same scholarship?

No. NSP is the central portal at scholarships.gov.in; SSP at ssp.karnataka.gov.in is Karnataka’s own portal. Most Karnataka SC/ST/OBC post-matric scholarships are disbursed through SSP, but the NSP One Time Registration is still mandatory before you can apply there.

Can I get two scholarships at once?

Generally no — a student may hold only one government scholarship at a time, and most schemes ask you to declare this. Merit-based and welfare-based combinations have specific rules, so read the declaration on your scheme card rather than assuming.

Do ITI students qualify?

Yes for state post-matric schemes on SSP, which cover ITI as a post-Class-10 course. No for AICTE Pragati and Saksham, which are restricted to AICTE-approved diploma and degree programmes. This is one reason to compare the two routes before admission.

My income certificate is from last year. Can I still apply?

Your application cannot be verified and will never be paid. Ask your principal to complete institute registration with the state nodal officer. If the college refuses, that itself tells you something about the institution.
